Stephens Announces Grant Approval to Rehabilitate Fellowship Park
1/4/2022
HARRISBURG—Rep. Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery) today announced Montgomery Township will receive a grant to rehabilitate Fellowship Park.

“Fellowship Park is a wonderful amenity for the community, but in need of upgrades and increased accessibility, which is why I urged the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to issue a Community Conservation Partnership grant to upgrade the park’s infrastructure,” Stephens said. “I’m pleased that the department agreed.”

The $250,000 grant will help fund major improvements to the park, including removing and replacing outdated play equipment with inclusive playground equipment, pour-in-place safety surfacing and relocating the play areas to an uphill area to eliminate drainage issues. Other proposed improvements include providing ADA access from the parking lot to the playground and existing water fountain, relocation and addition of ADA parking spaces, relocation of an existing flagpole, replacement of an access gate with a bollard, and the addition of benches around the new playground area.

“This will all make Fellowship Park a more inviting place for our families,” Stephens said.

Community Conservation Partnerships Program grants are administered by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and were created to promote conservation and recreation-focused projects and programs. They are awarded to municipalities and authorized nonprofit organizations for recreation, park and conservation projects.
