—Rep. Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery) helped coordinate the COVID-19 vaccinations of more than 700 vulnerable seniors at the Village of Neshaminy Falls.
“One of the challenges we have is to reach our most vulnerable seniors who can’t sign up online or drive across the county for vaccines, so by partnering with a local pharmacy we were able to bring the shots to this underserved population,” Stephens said.
Wellness Pharmacy Services of Horsham delivered the injections on Friday, Feb. 5 and Thursday, Feb. 11, at the Neshaminy Falls Clubhouse in Montgomery Township.
“Wellness approached me about working to get our most vulnerable seniors vaccinated,” Stephens said. “Over the past week my staff worked tirelessly with them to vaccinate 700 seniors in the Village of a Neshaminy Falls at two different events.
“The Neshaminy Falls Clubhouse was ideal because so many older residents reside nearby and it’s large enough to provide the social distancing necessary,” Stephens said. “Unfortunately many seniors don’t drive and can’t travel long distances to get the vaccine.”
Stephens does not have any other events planned at this point but is committed to ensuring our most vulnerable citizens have access to these life-saving vaccines.
“One thing remains clear,” Stephens said. “The Pennsylvania Department of Health needs to send Montgomery County more vaccines and expand the use of local pharmacies to reach our most vulnerable citizens.”
