– Rep. Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery) and U.S. Congressmen Pat Meehan (PA-7) and Brendan Boyle (PA-13) will receive a briefing on the progress of the redevelopment of the Willow Grove Naval Air Station and a tour of the facility on Friday, Feb. 6, in Horsham Township. Stephens arranged the visit after recent discussions with both congressmen.
“The redevelopment of the Willow Grove Naval Air Station is critical to our residents and our community,” Stephens said. “The cooperation of our federal, state and local officials is pivotal in ensuring the transfer of property and redevelopment of the base goes smoothly.”
Officials from the Horsham Land Redevelopment Association (HLRA) will provide a comprehensive update on the plans to redevelop the land once it is transferred to the township from the Navy before leading them on a tour of the base.
Following the briefing, Rep. Stephens and Congressmen Meehan and Boyle will be available to members of the press. The media availability will take place at the Horsham Township Building, 1025 Horsham Road from 3:20-3:40 p.m.
“As we move forward with the redevelopment of the base, it is reassuring to know we have two partners in Washington, D.C., who understand Horsham’s needs, goals and opportunities,” Stephens said. “I am grateful Congressmen Meehan and Boyle are visiting the base so they can be briefed on the issues facing its redevelopment and take their insights back to Washington to fight for Horsham Township.”
