Stephens to Host Spring Cleaning Open House
4/18/2013

HARRISBURG-- Rep. Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery) will host a Spring Cleaning Open House giving local residents the opportunity to recycle electronic equipment, safely destroy personal paperwork and donate old cell phones to a domestic violence shelter- all for free.

The event, which will feature an on-site industrial paper shredder, will take place on Saturday, April 27th from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Stephens’ district office located at 515 Stump Road in Montgomery Township.

“As identity thieves grow bolder in search of credit card numbers, bank account information and Social Security numbers, this is a pre-emptive strike to protect our residents,” Stephens said.

There is no limit on the number of electronics individuals can recycle or the amount of paper that can be shredded.  Any electronic device with a battery or a plug will be accepted and attendees will be able to watch their documents as they are destroyed.

Light refreshments will be served.

“Even if someone doesn’t have any electronics to recycle or paper to shred, I encourage them to stop by my office, meet my staff, and learn what other services we can provide,” Stephens said.  “It will also give residents a chance to ask me questions and learn what’s happening in Harrisburg.”

“The event is being co-sponsored by Susquehanna Bank and Laurel House Domestic Violence Shelter, and GigaBiter is donating its services for the day,” Stephens said. “I want to personally thank each of them for taking part in this great event.”

For more information, please call Ed Diasio in Stephens’ office at 215-368-5165.
