Stephens Announces PECO to Hold Open House on Ice Storm
3/26/2014
HARRISBURG—Responding to a request from Rep. Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery), PECO has announced it will hold an Open House to help customers understand the impact of the harsh winter - particularly February’s ice storm that caused more than 600,000 residents in Pennsylvania to lose power.

“I asked PECO to hold this meeting so Horsham residents could share their experiences from the ice storm with PECO,” Stephens said. “This meeting will allow customers to better understand the complexity of the problems we faced and permit them to present their concerns to PECO representatives.

The Open House will be held on April 3, from 6-8 p.m., at the Horsham Township Community Center, located at 1025 Horsham Road in Horsham.

PECO employees will be on hand to speak with residents about their concerns during the storm and to provide helpful information about the area’s electric system. PECO will also explain how they prepare for and respond to a storm, and why some areas have their service restored before their neighbors nearby.

February’s ice storm was the worst winter storm and second most damaging storm in PECO’s history. Only Hurricane Sandy in 2012 caused more damage than February’s ice storm.

“I want to thank PECO for giving our community the opportunity to have their voices heard,” Stephens said.
