Stephens Partners with Local First Responders to Host KidsFest in Horsham
HARRISBURG—Rep. Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery) invites families with children to attend KidsFest and Fire and EMS Awareness Day on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Village Shopping Center located at 200 Blair Mill Road in Horsham Township.

This year, Stephens has joined forces with the Horsham and Willow Grove Fire Departments, as well as the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad to educate the community about local organizations and government agencies that serve children and their families, while also raising fire prevention awareness.

KidsFest will be a fun-filled afternoon for children. There will be a police K-9 demonstration by SEPTA, a flash bang demonstration by the Montgomery County SWAT Team, a vehicle rescue demonstration by the Horsham and Willow Grove Fire departments, and tours of emergency vehicles. There will also be portable fire extinguisher and fire hose stations and a medical helicopter landing (weather permitting).

In addition to the fun, KidsFest brings together organizations with an abundance of helpful information from organizations, including Abington-Jefferson Health, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and Mission Kids, that assist children and their families on a daily basis.
“As a father of two young children, I know how important these programs and services can be for families,” Stephens said. “KidsFest is a fun-filled way for families to come out and learn all about these important organizations.”

The event is free to the public. Over 20 organizations and exhibitors are participating in this year’s KidsFest. For more information, including a full list of participating organizations, please visit or contact Tracy Phillips in Stephens’ office at 215-368-5165.
